Schengen Visa

If you're a Filipino planning to travel to any of the Schengen Area countries for tourism, business, or family visits, you will need to apply for a Schengen Visa. Here are the key requirements for Filipino citizens:

Valid Passport

  • Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure date from the Schengen Area.

  • Ensure your passport has at least 2 blank pages.

  1. Completed Visa Application Form

    • Fill out the Schengen Visa application form (available from the embassy or consulate website) with accurate details.

    • The form must be signed and dated by the applicant.

  2. Recent Passport-Sized Photos

    • Provide 2 passport-sized photos that meet the Schengen visa photo requirements (35mm x 45mm, white background).

  3. Travel Itinerary

    • Provide a round-trip flight reservation showing your entry and exit dates from the Schengen Area.

    • If traveling by land, provide your itinerary and accommodation bookings.

  4. Travel Insurance

    • You must have travel medical insurance covering a minimum of €30,000 for emergency medical expenses and repatriation. The insurance should be valid across all Schengen countries for the entire duration of your stay.

  5. Proof of Accommodation

    • Provide evidence of where you’ll be staying during your visit (hotel bookings, invitation letter from a host, or rental agreements).

  6. Proof of Financial Means

    • Provide bank statements for the last 3 months showing you have enough funds to cover your trip (approximately €60 per day of stay).

    • You may also submit sponsorship letters from a host or a business if someone else is covering your expenses.

  7. Visa Fee

    • The visa fee for a short-stay Schengen visa is typically €80 for adults and €40 for children aged 6-12. Payments must be made in cash or via a bank transfer.

  8. Cover Letter (Optional but Recommended)

    • A cover letter stating the purpose of your visit and your planned travel itinerary in the Schengen Area.

  9. Additional Documents for Specific Purposes:

    • Business Visa: An invitation letter from a company in the Schengen Area.

    • Family/Friend Visit: A sponsorship letter and a copy of the host’s passport or residence permit.

  10. Proof of Ties to the Philippines

    • Demonstrate your intent to return to the Philippines by providing documents like an employment certificate, school enrollment, or property ownership documents.

  11. Visa Appointment and Interview

    • Book a visa appointment at the nearest Schengen country embassy or consulate.

    • Be prepared for an interview where you may be asked about the purpose of your trip, finances, and travel history.

Ensure all documents are properly organized and submitted in line with the specific Schengen country's visa guidelines. Processing times vary but can take anywhere from 15 days to 4 weeks, so apply well in advance!
